Three Holy Cross Tigers placed in the top eight, as did two Jesuit Blue Jays, one with a 4th place finish, at the Cliff Keen USAW Folkstyle Nationals in the first week of April, 2013.  The event was held in the UNI-Dome at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.

Placing 4th for the Blue Jays in the Junior 100 lbs. weight class was Brody Martin who compiled a 2-2 record.  Placing 5th in the same event was Holy Cross' Chris Zea, also with a 2-2 mark.  Both wrestlers needed extra time to notch their first round victories, as Martin won 4-2 in the first Sudden Victory round and Zea won 5-3 in overtime.  After losing their semifinals matches, Martin won his first consolation round match to place him in the consolation finals, whereas Zea lost his first consolation round match, which placed him in a match for 5th.  Zea won that match handily, this time pinning the Iowa opponent he needed extra time to defeat in Round One.  Martin's Wisconsin opponent, whom he defeated in Round One, defeated Zea to reach the consolations and then exacted revenge on Martin to take 3rd place.  The two seniors, however, with their 4th and 5th place finishes, placed the highest among Louisiana participants at both the Junior and Cadet levels.

Travis Gardner of Holy Cross placed 6th in the 285 lbs. Cadet event and Brice Duhe, obviously in a very tough weight class, placed 8th with a 4-3 record in the Cadet 160 lbs. class.  Jesuit's Nicky Charles also placed 8th in the Junior 106 lbs. class.  Holy Cross junior George Benoit posted a very respectable 2-2 record in the Cadet 138 lbs. class, winning his way into the quarterfinals before losing his next two matches.

Also participating at the Cadet level for the Tigers were Addison Lotz at 152 lbs. and Jordan Challis at 182 lbs.  Competing for Jesuit at the Junior level were Ben D'Antonio (3-2 at 120 lbs.) and three wrestlers at 152 lbs.: Jake Eccles and Gaston Eymard, who each won one match, and Efosa Eboigbe who won two.  Cadet wrestlers for the Blue Jays included Jordan Giewat and Jake Rando at 113 lbs. and Kyler Pisciotta at 145 lbs.
