A nasty cold front blew through Memphis, TN Thursday, calling for ice storm warnings for several Tennessee counties, including Shelby County which includes Memphis.  Brother Martin planned on participating in the annuals "Blackhorse Invitational" wrestling tournament this weekend, but that was reduced to a simple dual meet against one of the perennial "Blackhorse" powers, Christian Brothers High School of Memphis.

The Crusaders were not fazed by their chilly reception in Memphis, though, defeating Christian Brothers 62-6. Falls scored by the Crusaders were recorded by Stephen Rumney (106 lbs. - 0:49), Taylor Gambill (126 lbs. - 3:35), Paul Klein (132 lbs. - 3:11), Pierce Williams (145 lbs. - 4:15), Nicholas Comardelle (170 lbs. - 2:53 and Yehia Riles (182 lbs. - 3:16)  The remaining Crusaders victors won decisions: Mason Mauro (113 lbs. - 4-2, Austin Meyn (138 lbs. - 9-0 major), Danny Evans (145 lbs. - 14-6 major)), Travis Quarterman (160 lbs. - 7-3), Jacob Clapp (220 lbs. - 7-6) and Matt Montalbano (285 lbs. - 4-3).  Only junior Ryan Genco failed to win his match, succumbing to a pin by Christian Brothers' Elijah Oliver.  Oliver was the winner of the 2012 "Blackhorse Invitational.  Joshua Tapia (195 lbs.) won via a forfeit.
