This was a back and forth affair until the Griffins yielded to forfeits.  The Spartans started strong.  Landon Wheat and Jacob Bernard scored technical falls which were followed by a close 3-0 win by Brandon Hayes, giving East Ascension a 13-0 lead.  The Griffins, though, came flying back with decisions by Brendan Warner and Aaron Arceneaux, followed by back-to-back pins by Brandon Cowell, Caleb Faul and Luther Jones, to take a 25-13 lead.  Three forfeits by the Griffins stifled their hopes of winning though.  The Spartans scored two more falls (by Jordan Campbell and Mason Gonzales) while the Griffins could only muster a three-point decision by Kobe Bernard.
