Coaches and Athletes,

It is that time of year again where we look to bring Louisiana's best to Cadet and Junior Nationals in Fargo, North Dakota for the Freestyle and Greco Championships.  Attached, I have the 'Intent to Participate' form for the event.  Information on dates and fees can be found on this form also. 

Last years team was low in numbers, but high in talent.  The 2014 Fargo National team consisted of 7 wrestlers that finished with 6 State Championships and 1 Runner up finish representing 6 different schools and 3 divisions in the Louisiana State Folkstyle Tournament.  The team was made up of Cadets: Josh Ramirez (Rummel), Kendon Kayser (Brusly), and Guy Patron (Jesuit) and Juniors: Brice Duhe (Holy Cross), Zach Funderburk (Parkway), Colt Olinde (Live Oak), and Kirk Wilson (Dunham).  

We have had a lot of questions about qualifying for the national team.  The Louisiana Freestyle and Greco State Tournament, which will be held at Holy Cross in May, is the qualifier for the national team.  If you do not qualify through this event, it does not exclude you from participating.  There are still ways to participate without qualifying through the Freestyle and Greco State Tournament. 

I ask that all coaches and athletes interested, please pay close attention to the dates for deposits and fees!  If the deposit is not received by the date assigned, the price of the trip will only go up for you!  Plan tickets are not cheap and the longer you wait, the higher the price of flights will be to and from Fargo, North Dakota.
