As the high school wrestling season now underway, some of
Louisiana’s younger wrestlers have started their preseason schedule as well.
This past weekend, five young Louisiana wrestlers (four
Louisiana USA Wrestling 2014-2015 state champions), representing Air Force/CGA
Wrestling and coached by Rich Clementi, traveled to Memphis, Tennessee, for the
8th annual Mayhem in Memphis Youth tournament.
Wrestlers from Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi,
Georgia, and Illinois offered the young champions an opportunity to see some
different faces on the mats.
Lil Rich Clementi, a 2014–2015 Louisiana USA
Wrestling freestyle state champion, entered in the Intermediate 60 lbs.
division and finished as a runner-up with a 2–1 record.
His only loss was against a Kentucky USA Wrestling state champion
and All-American.
