Team Competition

Numerically at least, newcomer Rummel is the favorite in Division II.  The Raiders have only nine seeded wrestlers, as opposed to 11 from two-time defending champion Teurlings Catholic and 10 from Live Oak.  All nine of the Raiders' seeds, though, are in the top four spots, with four seeded first.  The Rebels have three #1 seeds and Live Oak has one.  Shaw also looks to make a run with two #1 and two #2 seeds among the eight seeded Eagles.

Editor's best guess for his confusion:

The 152 lbs. seeding may surprise some people who are not familiar with many northwest Louisiana wrestlers or who wonder how the only other wrestler to post a win over Holy Cross' Joey Foret is not a #1 seed.

Division II 152 lbs. - Nathan Pitts (Parkway) over Brad Albarado (Shaw):  Pitts has a win over Lafayette's Thaquan Priestley, whereas has a 1-1 record vs. Priestley.
