| Grapplers of all ages and sizes descend
on Jesuit for freestyle and Greco-Roman competitions |

Almost 400 contestants, ages 3-18 years-old, invaded the Jesuit High School
gymnasium on Saturday for the New Orleans Open freestyle and Greco-Roman
competitions. At least five 2016 LHSAA state champions participated,
including Cole Clement, Jake Rando and Joey Foret of the Bayou Elite Wrestling
Club (mainly Holy Cross), Eli Larriviere of the New Orleans Wrestling Club
(mainly Jesuit), Luke Cotton of the Crusader Wrestling Club (mainly Brother
Martin) and Blake Mateu of the Gator Wrestling Club-Southshore (mainly Rummel).
With apologies, the editor knew very few of the participants by name.
In fact, he had to guess at a few he did know because they were not wearing
their school singlets and some had shown a propensity for growth since February.
Hence, below you will just fine a smattering of random photographs, except
for below the Junior Freestyle results, where some photos with named competitors
may be found, and a list of the champions in the freestyle and Greco-Roman
competitions.
