| Crusader A beats suspect Eagle Empire to advance to semifinals |

The Crusader A squad had to watch as the Eagle Empire team, from the
Miami, Florida, area, rolled up a 33-9 advantage after just over half of
the 15 weight classes had been contested. Unfazed, the Crusaders
started a run of their own by winning five of the next six matches by
falls, and only losing a decision, and took a 39-36 lead with one match
remaining. That match, however, resulted in a fall for the Florida
team and it appeared the Crusader squad was headed for the consolation
rounds. However, the Crusaders were not done scoring - just not on the mat, this time. Eagle Empire had counted the score of a senior who won at 195 lbs., and once his grade status had been first denied but then acknowledged, Eagle Empire had to forfeit the match to the Crusaders, resulting in a 12-point swing which put the Crusaders on top 45-36. |
