Airline's Christian Walden won his third consecutive Division I championship via a pin of Jesuit's William Rosevally in 1:04.

Christian Walden completed his second season not only undefeated in Louisiana, but undefeated any time he stepped onto the mat.  His record of 43-0 included tournament wins at the Warrior Open, the Arlington-Martin, Texas Open, The Riot on the Red, the Eagle Open, the Trey Culotta Invitational, the Lone Survivor, the Louisiana Classic and the Northwest Louisiana Regionals.  In front of a home crowd for the second time, Walden needed just 1:17 to advance to the semifinals in which he scored a 17-5 Major Decision over St. Amant's fourth-seeded Hunter Hawkins.

Having the please of meeting Walden in the finals was Jesuit's William Rosevally, who could easily be considered the most improved Division I wrestler.  Placing sixth in 2016, Rosevally was seeded second in this tournament after compiling a 38-2 record.  Rosevally placed fifth in the South Walton Border Wars, third at the Warrior Open and the Louisiana Classic and first at the Cashio-Shriever.  Rosevalley advanced to the finals with a fall in 3:47, a 15-3 Major Decision in the quarterfinals and an 8-3 decision over Brother Martin's third-seeded Paul Elmer, again whom Rosevally had a 2-1 season series edge in matches decided by three points or less.
