De LaSalle adds individual titles to the 2017 Division III championship team |

Junior Jourdan Theall of North Vermillion was selected as the
Division II Outstanding Wrestler. Seeded second, Theall received a bye and then scored a 16-0 Technical fall in 2:16 over Jerado Wilson of Evangel. In his semifinals match he pinned Jamar Brown of De LaSalle in 2:52. In the finals, Theall defeated defending Division III state Champion Brennen Langley of Basile in an 11-8 match. |
The Brusly Panthers placed second to De LaSalle for the second consecutive year. De LaSalle racked up 252 points to Brusly's 216.5. St. Louis, with 167 points, and John Curtis with 151.5 points, placed third and fourth, respectively.
For the second year in a row Jimmy Bibles Panthers only placed second, something Brusly, which had won 11 championships in 12 years before the reinvigorated Cavaliers joined the fray. The Panthers had state champions in Austin Franklin, Owen Mabile and Richard Hunter, and runner-up finishes by David Kent, Calep Balcuns and Brandon Young. |
