Saturday, March 30th as of 4:45 p.m.: At the end of it all, 35 of the 57 Louisiana wrestlers scored at least one victory in the tournament.  Twenty scored at least two victories and 14 scored three.  Cameron Davis of North Desoto and Mason Massicot of Brother Martin scored four wins, and Trent Mahoney of East Ascension won six matches.

Saturday, March 30th as of 4:10 p.m.: Trent Mahoney missed All-American honors by one match, losing to Virginia's Bryce Sanderlin 8-4.  Mahoney's record was 6-2 over the weekend.  Sanderlin was a Virginia 6A runner-up at the 2019 Virginia state championships.

Saturday, March 30th as of 3:40 p.m.: Trent Mahoney and J. McGinty of New York were scoreless going into the third period.  But Mahoney started out on the top, and nobody likes that.  He scored three nearfall points and allowed a reversal late to advance to the 1st Consolation Round of 8 via a 3-2 win.  Mahoney will meet Bryce Sanderlin of Virginia in match #5086 on Mat 9 later this evening.

Saturday, March 30th as of 2:30 p.m.: two Louisiana wrestlers remain in contention for third place in the Consolation Round of 16 #1.  They are Trent Mahoney, who won three matches Saturday and Mason Massicot who won two matches today.

Sophomore Cameron Davis won three matches in a row before receiving his second loss of the tournament in his sixth match.  Grant Rabel did the same, winning three before losing in his fifth match.  Anthony Dodson won two matches on Saturday but fell out of contention in his fifth match.  Live Oak teammate Clayton Hill also won two matches Saturday but succumbed in his fourth match.

Friday, March 29th

Fifty-six Louisiana wrestlers representing 17 high school programs, along with coaches and parents, travelled to Virginia Beach, Virginia, for the 2019 National High School Coaches Association High School Nationals.

No matter how each wrestler fares, the event is a huge learning experience...blah, blah, blah.  The previous has been said by the editor ad infinitum.  For those who have not been to this event already, it might better be compared to a gladiator entering the Coliseum of Rome for the first time, but nobody dies, of course.  But if the newcomers are attentive, there is a lot to learn watching wrestlers from other states ply their trade on the mats.

Thirteen current and former Louisiana state champions are on the list, as are four runners-up, and they were responsible for half of the 18 victories for Team Louisiana.  Those wins were posted by Glenn Price, Anthony Dodson, Clayton Hill, Calep Balcuns, Alex Duncan, Trent Mahoney, Camdyn Ingram, Mason Massicot, Lance Robinson and Hunter Hawkins.

The other nine wins were recorded by Santos Ramos, Logan Ferguson, Cameron Davis, Shad Sheffie, Tyler Beaird, Dylan Olivier, Martin Helouin, and Canon Hunt.
