Louisiana team leaves Tulsa on a
winning note |

After a grueling four days of competition, the Louisiana U.S. Junior National
Duals team left Tulsa, Oklahoma on a winning note. The team won its last
match against the Georgia (Red) team 41-29 to place third out of five teams in the
Purple/Gray championship bracket.
On Friday the team went 1-2 in the freestyle pools round, finishing seventh
out of eight teams.

Saturday's championship brackets were determined early on Friday and
Louisiana was placed in the Purple/Gray championship bracket. Two of the
championship bracket rounds were held on Friday, and Louisiana went 1-1 in them,
defeating North Carolina 54-20 and falling to Florida 44-23.

On Saturday the team lost to the eventual winner, California (Red), 55-17 in
their first match.
In their last match, however, they defeated the Georgia (Red) team 41-29.
Highlights included Mason Eisensohn's second win in the two events. Eisensohn, after not winning a match in the
Greco-Roman event, turned out to be the biggest winner for the Louisiana team in
the freestyle competition, posting a 3-2 record.

In the two events Comeaux graduate Dylan Ames fared the best of the Louisiana
team members in actual matches (forfeits not included), posting a 6-6 record.
Brother Martin senior Cameron Frederick was next with a 4-2 record.
Bonnabel graduate Malik Smith was third with a 2-3 record. Brother Martin
senior Alex Duncan went 5-9 and Live Oak senior Clayton Hill went 4-9.
Ames, Frederick, Duncan, Hill and Eisensohn were the only Louisiana wrestlers to
win more than two matches in Tulsa.
