[Note: With apologies, many of these photos do not meet the usual criteria for being published, but some did and I did not want to leave anyone else.  Whatever the problem, it appears to have fixed itself base on photographs taken later.]

With a mere seven wrestlers the Chalmette Owls got the best of three teams with 13 entrants and 10 other teams to win the 2019 George Trygg Memorial at Grace King on December 7th.

Finishing a close second was Baton Rouge High School with only 11 wrestlers.

Chalmette won six finals matches and placed second in one.  Winning championships for the Owls were Anthony Perez (106 lbs.), Trey Silva (120 lbs.), Marco Spicuzzo (126 lbs.), Mohammed Abdelhaq (152lbs.), Christian Moore (182 lbs.) and Dai Jon Bibbs (195 lbs.).  Jalen Ben placed second for the Owls.

Kade Moran (160 lbs.) and Axel Encalada-Arce (220 lbs.) won titles for the Bulldogs of Baton Rouge.  Jason Brouillette (113 lbs.) and Dominic Spizale (132 lbs.) won championships for the Lakeshore Titans.  John Curtis also had two champions in Colton Kendrick (145 lbs.) and John Drake (285 lbs.).  Jacob Frazier of St. Paul (138 lbs.) and Jacob McKee of Pearl River (170 lbs.) won the remaining two weight classes.

Mohammed Abdelhaq of Chalmette was voted the tournament's Outstanding Wrestler.  Alyssa Quezaire of East Ascension was awarded the Phillip Roemer "Warrior Award."  Coach Chris McNamara of Chalmette was honored with the Ray Gremillion Coaching Award.
