In the 2021 Trey Culotta Invitation De la Salle's Dylan Duvernay scored the
first takedown, but that would be all he would score against Airline's Logan
Olsen. Olsen ripped off five points in the remainder of the first period
and added three more in the third period for an 8-2 win. Duvernay did not
forget the eight unanswered points. In the finals of this event Duvernay
again scored the first takedown and dominated Olsen while building a 4-1 lead,
until 45 seconds remained in the second period. Then Olsen took over.
He escaped, scored a takedown and two nearfall points in the last part of the
second period to take a 6-5 lead after 4:00. Duvernay retook the lead with
a reversal in the third period, but that advantage lasted a mere three seconds
before Olsen escaped and tied the match. Olsen followed with a takedown
and was able to head-and-arm Duvernay to his back, scoring a fall in 4:18,
becoming the first of three Vikings champions. Jesuit's Michal Barnett
placed third with a fall over Gabriel Stevens of Sam Houston.
