This weight class could have some implications come future seeding via the finals match between Jesuit junior Jackson Calderaro and East Ascension senior Jacob Schexnaidre. Schexnaidre won the finals match 12-8, which good exercise for both of them as neither of their previous matches made it past the first period. It was particularly good for Schexnaidre as he avenged a 2021 dual meet loss, in which Calderaro pinned him in 3:48. Danon Walker of Airline placed third via a medical forfeit by De la Salle Division III runner-up Jason Krail.

Baton Rouge | Shaw | Airline | Sam Houston | Catholic | De la Salle |
Baton Rouge senior Adam Landry had a good 2021-22 season going before he was
injured at the Louisiana Classic and missed the remainder of the season.
He placed third at this event last season, losing to champion Nicholas Migliacio
of Catholic in 2:39 in the quarterfinals. This time he avenged that loss
by beating Migliacio 6-5 in the quarterfinals, on his way to falls in the
semifinals and the finals. He faced some tough competition in the finals,
though, against Shaw's Bryce Hanley. Hanley was undefeated in 2021 until
he was injured on or shortly after December 29th, when he lost his only match of
the season. Landry dominated the Eagle junior in the finals, scoring nine
points to Hanley's one, which was a first period penalty point, prior to
recording a fall in 5:50. Joey Juneau of Airline placed third over Sam
Houston's Colt Fisher via a 3:32 fall.

Gabriel Milbern | Ryan Dennis | Richard Combel | Mason Malarcher | Aiden Harden | Max Bahman |
Walker | Zachary | St. Amant | Live Oak | De la Salle | Dutchtown |
Master Karcher may have had to step aside on Monday, for junior Gabriel Milbern was the wrestling BMOC at Walker High School last Monday. Milbern won the 285 lbs. weight class (another reason, perhaps, for the 120 lbs. Karcher to step aside) with a 21-second fall over Ryan Dennis of Zachary. Milbern won his previous two matches in 1:52 and 1:24. Richard Combel of St. Amant placed third with a gutsy 3-2 win over Live Oak's Mason Malarcher, in which Combel scored all three of his points in the third period.
