Rummel sophomore Kaiden Triche got a very good Division II scenario prior to the
state championships in February. He started the tournament with a 3:50
fall over Daniel Daspit of Teurlings Catholic. Next was Shaw's Blake
Andre. Shaw is in Division III this year, but the two knew each other well
enough from last season, in which Triche won a tight first match 6-5 but then
pinned Andre in the Ken Cole. This time he posted a convincing 9-3 win,
advancing to the finals to meet St. Thomas More sophomore Evan Valicevic.
Triche wasted no time in the finals, pinning Valicevic in 0:31.
