Teams of primarily
freshmen and sophomores met on Wednesday, November 15th as Brother Martin
visited Riverdale for a Wednesday night dual meet. They young
Crusaders got the best of the Scottish Rebels, who could only muster one
varsity win and one exhibition win. Yet that is to be expected when
one team has 57 wrestlers and are the defending Division I state champions,
and the others have 20 wrestlers on their roster. Yet just one win can
be enough to elate a team. It certainly elated Riverdale's Raul Pineda
who, as can be seen in the photos at 195 lbs. below, not only did not quite
know what to do after he scored a fall, literally walked on air as he
figured it out. Justin Smith was the other Scottish Rebel to win a
match, in an exhibition contest held after the varsity matches were
completed.
