TC's Brennan Boyer had lost all of three matches to Louisiana wrestlers prior to the Louisiana Classic.  Only one was in the 126 lbs. LACL bracket, but due to that kid's losses to others, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera, he was seeded 10th.  He defeated the #7 seed from Rockwall Heath, Texas 7-2 but fell to second-seeded Cole Mire of Dutchtown 5-3 in the quarterfinals.  He won his next three matches, though, which included a 10-3 win over #5 Matthew Krail of Holy Cross and placed fourth to third-seeded Kristian Scott of Catholic.

 This tournament was pretty much between Mire, seeded first, and Boyer, seeded second.  Mire used three falls and a 9-0 MD to reach the finals.  Boyer used a fall, two technical falls and a 7-0 win to join Mire.  Boyer took an early lead but after the second period ended the two were tied 3-3.  A reversal with 46 seconds remaining gave Boyer a 5-3 win.
