Holy Cross may have the most state championships, state champions, runners-up and a myriad of other records since 1945, but Fontainebleau senior Aiden Lindsey was having none of that.  Well, not if they were 10th-graders, at least.  He faced and beat three Tiger sophomore's this season.  In what many viewed as an upset, Lindsey spoiled Nick DiGeralamo's debut at the Spartan invitational with a 6-4 finals win.  He then beat another Tiger sophomore, Sean McDonald, in the quarterfinals of the Zachary Big Horse.  In the State finals he held fifth-seeded Gunner Guidry to an escape point in a 7-1 match.  He was the first, well, Bulldog senior to win a state title in eight years.

The start of the senior's season was not bad, but not great, as he suffered three losses.  After his Spartan Invitational win he won the Zachary Big Horse and the Jacob McMillan.  He was third at the Public School Championships, fourth at the Battle of New Orleans and fifth at the Louisiana Classic.  His last loss was in the consolation semifinals of the LACL, and he won the Titan Invitational and the St. Tammany Parish Championships after that.  For those events, as for the state championships, he dropped to 152 lbs.

Holy Cross sophomore Gunner Guidry won his first event, the Tiger Open, which included a 4-2 SV semifinals win over Division II state champion Hudson Sharon.  The he lost a couple of finals matches to Dutchtown's Foster Shank, but came back with a runner-up finish at the Border Wars.  A fourth-place finish at the Louisiana Classic netted him a #5 seed at the state tournament.  But if anyone remembers the 2021-22 season, Gunner Guidry rarely does what he is expected to do.  He knocked off #4 Anthony Hernandez of Covington (avenging a LACL loss) and the #1 Jensen Bergeron of Lafayette 6-4, (avenging another LACL loss) to make the finals.
