Prior to the semifinals Holy Cross has a four-and-one-half point lead over Catholic. Brother Martin is hanging onto third place with 147.5 points. Falling out of contention unless everything that can happen does happen "in a good way," are the Jesuit Blue Jays. St. Paul has been supplanted in the fifth spot by St. Amant.

With four wrestlers apiece favored to win, Holy Cross and Catholic are positioned to make a huge move to leave the Crusaders and Blue Jays behind. This may be the last time St. Amant is listed in the top-five as St. Paul has two wrestlers favored in their semifinals matches.
