[The editor is just going to say this once, on every first-day results page, for every big national tournament, for the rest of his life: just competing at this event is going to make you better wrestlers. "Two and out" is fine - you are competing with many of the best wrestlers in the nation - some from states many of our political leaders have probably never heard of. Root for your teammates but also watch the other kids. Let learning be the pandemic this weekend.]
The Frost twins of Bayou Elite/Holy Cross are the only members of Team Louisiana that will compete on Sunday in the Defense Soap SUPER 32 tournament in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Jacob Frost won four matches on Friday and now finds himself in the quarterfinals. Frost's opponent in the quarterfinals is Arizona's Emilio Ysquirre, a two-time D4 state champion from Arizona.
Evan Frost won his first four matches, lost to Pennsylvania's Tyler Kasak 8-2, and won his first consolation match to place himself one match away from placing in the top-eight. His opponent on Sunday is Sergio Lemley of Indiana, who won an Illinois 3A state championship in 2020.
Two team Louisiana wrestlers won one match on Saturday. Another won two matches.
Ethan Boudreaux won his first two consolation round matches, but that was sandwiched between two losses. Boudreaux finished the event with a 2-2 record.
Jacob Ramirez and Todd Ritter each won their first matches but fell in their next attempts. Ramirez won his first match in the consolation bracket and finished with a 2-2 record. Ritter lost his first consolation match and finished the event with a 1-2 record.
