Eight Louisiana wrestlers earn All-American status at the 2021 Adidas Nationals |

Get used to the face on the top right. Morgan Chabert may end up with more photos on the Louisiana Wrestling News than Jake Rando, Gavin Christ and Gabe Dalton...combined. I cannot think of a better way to help promote girls wrestling than that face and that shirt, and also which will not get someone else at the LHSAA to hate me. (I will have to clear it with her mother, of course.)
Wrestlers from almost all parts of Louisiana
converged on Independence, Missouri last weekend to participate in the
2021 Adidas Nationals. Representing Louisiana were members of the
Ascension Wrestling Club, Crusaders Wrestling Club, the Junior Spartans Wrestling Club, the
Lafayette Scrappers Wrestling Club, the North
Desoto Wrestling Academy, the Northwest Louisiana Warriors Wrestling
Club, the Rayne Wrestling Club and the Rebel Wrestling Club of
Lafayette. At least 47 wrestlers entered the event. Thirty-four of them returned as All-Americans, having placed in the top-eight of their weight classes. The weight classes only included those in the same school class. |
NOTE: Names of younger Scrappers, aside from Master Oubre, are currently on a hacked Facebook page and will be added below when the situation is remedied.
Division I state champion and Outstanding Wrestler Landon Reaux, competing for the Junior Spartans Wrestling Club, placed first in the 10th-grade 106 lbs. weight class.
Placing second were the following:
Nicholas Cusimano #2 on the podium | Collin Bell # 5 and Hunter Chabert #6 on the podium |
Collin Bell | Caden Robison |
Place | Name | Team | Age | Weight |
3rd | Wiley Boudreaux | Junior Spartans W.C. | Sophomore | 128 |

3rd | Caden Robison | North Desoto W.C. | Freshman | 192 |

5th | Collin Bell | North Desoto W.C. | Freshman | 115 |
5th | Caleb Lavine | Lafayette Scrappers W.C. | Eighth-grade | 123 |
5th | Luke Campbell | Northwest LA Warriors W.C. | Eighth-grade | 160 |

8th | Chase Bergeron | Junior Spartans W.C. | Junior | 133 |
8th | Jakarion Fontenot | Rayne W.C. | Junior | 128 |
A few of the Louisiana kids ran into each other or a common opponent at the
event. In the freshman 115 weight class it was Collin Bell of NDWC
defeating Hunter Chabert of the CWC for fifth place.
In the sophomore 128 lbs. bracket, runner-up Nick Cusimano defeated Layne Rivette in the semifinals.
Also in that weight class Cusimano and third-place finisher Wiley Boudreaux each competed against Connor Warnock of Wilson Central High School in Lebanon, TN. Warnock was ahead 5-0 before pinning Boudreaux in 2:00, but Cusimano was ahead 7-5 before he was caught and pinned in 3:52.
