| Louisiana Gold posts 4-0 Dixie Duals pool mark - to meet Alabama Black in Sunday's semifinals |

The Louisiana Gold team lost only six of 45 matches wrestled Saturday en route to a 4-0 record in Pool B of the 2014 Alabama Dixie Duals. The closest match was a 43-18 victory over Asylum Wrestling of Georgia. Team X of Alabama scored four points versus 63 put on them by the Louisiana team. The gold shut out the Appalachian Elite RED (80-0) and Alabama Militia (74-0) teams.
Brusly's Trevor Schermer led the way with a 4-0 match record at 143 lbs., which included one first round fall and a combined score of 46-2 in his other three bouts. Mason Williams of Brother Martin (150 lbs.), Jake Eccles of Jesuit (165 lbs.) and Conor Karwath of East Ascension (290 lbs.) each went 3-0 on the day. Every member of the Louisiana Gold team recorded at least one victory Saturday.
Three-time Division I state champion Brother Martin Crusaders is represented by six wrestlers, followed by Brusly, East Ascension, Hahnville and Jesuit with two apiece. Also represented are Comeaux, Holy Cross and Live Oak.
