| Louisiana sends two all-star teams to the Alabama Dixie Duals |

Louisiana all-stars are once again competing in the Alabama Dixie Duals, an annual folkstyle dual meet tournament held at Spain Park High School in Hoover, Alabama. .A total of 33 wrestlers from northwest, central and southeast Louisiana are participating on two Louisiana teams: Gold and Silver. The Gold team is stacked with seven Division I state champions, one Division II state champion and two Division III state champions, while the Silver team has two Division III state champions.
Leading the Louisiana teams are some of the best coaches available: Landon Becnel, Mike Bernard, Carlos Bertot, Richie Dixon, Treven Delaune, Ryan Hess, Graham Karwath, Pat Mahoney, Nick Shields and Kenny Whittle.
Finishing 4-0 in Saturday's pool rounds the Louisiana Gold team, seeded second in Pool B, will meet the top-seeded Alabama Black team in Saturday morning's semifinals. The winner of that match will face the winner of the Pool A semifinal between Florida's Brandon Wrestling Club and the Appalachian Elite RED team.
Last year the Louisiana Green team placed third. In 2012, the Louisiana Green team won the event with a 25-24 victory over Team Texas. In 2011 the Louisiana Gold team place second to a team from Nashville, Tennessee.
