Most of the gentlemen above should defend their state championships, particularly Alex Menier, Alex Yokubaitis and Isaac Cortez, who have already done so.  Trahan may have a little trouble, as Hunter Langley will not have forgotten last year's finals match against him.  One might think that winning as a fifth seed might have been a fluke for Blake Menier, but his main competition from last season, James Geiger and Jamar Brown, have graduated.  Datremecious White may find Church Point junior Tony Gibson to be a problem but got past him 6-3 in last season's semifinals. Yokubaitis will be shooting for his fourth consecutive Division III championship.

Any of these young men could reach the Division III finals, particularly Gillikin, Grisby, Lauland, Langley, Broussard, Sistrunk and Spooner, who already have.  None of them can be ruled out, particularly the seniors not already mentioned: Baumgardner, McMichael, Anderson, Belcher, Dean and Duplechin.
