Finals

Jake Rando (Holy Cross) defeated Clint Brownell (St. Amant) 4-1
Rando scored a double-leg takedown early in the first period, back out from the side of Brownell for a reversal in the second period and only allowed Brownell a stalling point in the third period to secure a 4-1 victory and his second tournament championship.

Seeding Implications: Jake Rando and Zachary's Sam Johnson both have two tournament wins, and Johnson very well could have three had he not been disqualified at the Warrior Open when leading 12-4.  Rando gets the nod though as the only point Brownell received in the Spartan Open finals was when Rando was cited for stalling, whereas Johnson let Brownell score six and four points in his victories over the St. Amant wrestler, which were two and one point affairs.  Johnson gets seeded over Jesuit's Jake Rovira as he has a DQ win over Rovira (both were cited but Rovira was called for misconduct last) despite that Rovira gave Rando his closest match in a one-point loss in the Mandeville Open finals.  Brother Martin's Mason Williams, should he enter Louisiana competition at 145 pounds, will probably have to earn his spot via a second or third spot, giving credence to his Division I runner-up status in the 2014 state championships.  Brownell has been in three tournament finals and should be seeded, but until he wins one he will likely be in the fourth spot.  Brennan Taylor of Sulphur is also listed at 145 pounds, but to date he has no recorded matches and will have to catch-up to the rest of the field with experience thus far in the season.
