Finals
Brody Bonura (Live Oak) defeated Nick Wallis (Zachary) 3-2
This was a repeat of a first round match at the Warrior Open in which Bonura needed a third period takedown to win 5-4. This match was eerily similar. Neither wrestler could score in the first period. In the second Wallis scored an escape for a 1-0 lead but Brody gained a 2-1 lead with a takedown when he tried to whip Wallis over but ended up breaking his base and spinning behind the Zachary wrestler. Wallis, however, tied the match again with a Granby roll escape and came near to catching Bonura's leg for a takedown, but the Live Oak wrestler went out of bounds. The third round started with the match tied 2-2 and Bonura in the bottom position. Wallis stopped Bonura from escaping three times but Bonura succeeded on his fourth try to take a 3-2 lead. To the surprise of many fans and some coaches Bonura was warned for stalling, but he was able to hold off Wallis, while making takedown attempts of his own, to preserve a 3-2 win.
