Finals

Brice Duhe (Holy Cross) defeated Joe Kerry (Rummel) 8-0
This was a rematch of the Mandeville Open finals, won by Duhe in 4:32.  This one, however, went the full six minutes and was competitive for the first two rounds.  Duhe opened the scoring late in the first period when after fending off a few shots by Kerry he flattened him out and spun behind him for a 2-0 lead.  Duhe used a roll which put him face to face with Kerry, and then he whipped Kerry over for a reversal and two nearfall points.  The round ended with Duhe ahead 6-0.  Kerry chose to start the third period in the neutral position but Duhe again was able to sprawl Kerry flat and spin behind him for two more points.  From there Duhe rode Kerry for the rest of the match to earn his second tournament win.

Seeding Implications: Though currently only 5-0 Brice Duhe of Holy Cross has shown no signs of relinquishing this weight class to anybody else.  While he has lost to Duhe twice Rummel's Joe Kerry has not lost to anyone else and should have a pretty solid hold on the number two spot.  Kerry has had some tough matches, though, and one should not discount Dutchtown's Brian Almond, Zachary's Murphy Miller, East Ascension's Sydney Mitchell, Teurlings Catholic's Kynan Sonnier and Baton Rouge's Thomas Stremlau, among others.
